An embryo obtained with the Embryo transfer technique is generated inside the uterus of a donor mare, at 8/9 days it is then flushed to be transferred and implanted in the recipient mare. This technique is opted for if the donor has problems carrying the pregnancy to term or so that she can continue her sporting activity or even increase the number of foals more quickly.
An OPU/ICSI embryo is the result of fertilizing an egg with sperm in the laboratory. The successfully inseminated embryo is then frozen with liquid nitrogen. An embryo obtained by uterine lavage is generated inside the uterus of a donor mare and then removed with a uterin flush to be then directly implanted in a recipient mare.
You can use all three types of semen: fresh, cooled, frozen.
At the end of the insemination, the veterinarian in charge, duly registered in the register of inseminators, issues a C.I.F. (certificate of insemination). Following the embryo transfer, the certificate of embryonic implantation (C.I.E.) is instead issued. With these duly filled in and stamped documents you have the certification of origin of the embryo.
Through the Cif and the Cie which determine the authenticity of the embryo, its origin and its ownership.
Elvo Stables has a big number of recipient mares that can be rented by the costumers. Mares are scanned regularly and ready to be inseminated.
Our advice is from the beginning of March till the end of July.
